
Brianna J. Hobson, PsyD
About Dr. Hobson
Dr. Brianna J. Hobson (she/her) is a Clinical Psychology Fellow at Stratus Mental Health Center. She has experience working with individuals and groups across the lifespan, particularly adolescents, families, and young adults. She has worked with clients in a variety of settings including schools, community mental health centers, inpatient and outpatient clinics in university hospitals.
In her post-doctoral training at the EMPWR Program at UCLA, Dr. Hobson received specialized training in providing gender-affirming care for trans and gender diverse youth, young adults, and their families. Her research involves studying the experiences of trans and gender diverse youth with gender-affirming interventions and clinician’s needs in promoting positive sexual health with clients.
Dr. Hobson earned her B.A. in Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley. She earned her Psy.D. and M.Ed. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in human sexuality at Widener University, obtained through a combination of work across the Institute of Graduate Clinical Psychology (IGCP) and the Center of Human Sexuality Studies (CHSS).
Dr. Hobson uses an integrative approach in therapy, drawing primarily from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), relational psychotherapy, and trauma-informed care. She believes in creating a therapeutic environment that is warm, empowering, culturally sensitive, and collaborative.
