She then pursued her Ph.D. from the San Diego State University/University of California, San Diego Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology, where her research and clinical work focused on developing effective treatments for youth internalizing disorders. She completed her internship at the Child and Adolescent Abuse Resource and Evaluation (CAARE) Diagnostic and Treatment Center at UC Davis Medical Center, where she worked with highly underserved families exposed to abuse, neglect, and other forms of maltreatment and trauma. Following the conclusion of her Ph.D. program, she returned to UCLA Semel Institute to complete a postdoctoral fellowship at the Nathanson Family Resilience Center where she conducted community trainings, led parent-based groups, and worked to increase access to mental health services through the dissemination of interventions into school districts (LAUSD) and medical/primary care settings.

Dr. Do has conducted therapy in individual, family, and group formats, and is intensively trained in a number of evidence-based treatments including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). She has experience in other interventions including Families OverComing Under Stress (FOCUS) and AIM HI (for children with autism spectrum disorder), and has conducted psychological testing and child welfare evaluations as well. She is passionate about approaching therapy with a culturally-sensitive lens, decreasing the stigma associated with mental health issues, and advocating for mental health parity.
