About Tess
Tess Anderson is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Tess provides Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and medication management to children, adolescents and young adults.
Tess trained at Four Winds Hospital in Katonah, New York, where she provided psychiatric services including psychiatric evaluations and medication management for children in a psychiatric inpatient hospital. In her previous role as psychiatric nurse at NFI Evolutions, an intensive residential treatment program in Massachusetts, Tess provided medication management to adolescents to target symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, psychotic disorders, and emerging borderline personality disorder (BPD).
Tess earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree at Yale University. She completed her initial training at West Haven Mental Health Clinic, where she provided individual CBT and trauma-focused CBT to underserved adolescents and young adults with symptoms of anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Tess received her B.A. in Psychology from Gettysburg College. Following her undergraduate education, Tess joined the Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program at the Yale Child Study Center, where she worked with families and conducted clinical evaluations of children suffering from symptoms of anxiety.

Tess has completed Behavioral Tech’s Adolescent DBT Foundational Training with Dr. Alec Miller, and training in CBT with Dr. Wendy Silverman. Tess is trained in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) by treatment developer, Dr. Eli Lebowitz.
In her role at Stratus Mental Health Center, Tess is dedicated to providing a holistic and coordinated treatment approach that is tailored to fit the comprehensive needs of children and families.
