Danna Bismar, PhD

About Dr. Bismar

Danna Bismar, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist. Dr. Bismar’s approach to therapy is tailored to the unique strengths, struggles, and cultures of every client and family. She has experience working with individuals, families, and groups from diverse backgrounds in various settings, including outpatient, university counseling, partial hospitalization programs, and intensive outpatient programs. She has extensive training in evidence-based psychotherapies, with an emphasis in Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Dr. Bismar’s research has primarily focused on multicultural identity development among children of immigrants.

Dr. Bismar completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the Boston Child Study Center. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in the Child/Adolescent Track at Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare (RUBHC) in New Jersey. At RUBHC, she specialized in the evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents with complex mental health and developmental concerns. She obtained her Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of North Texas. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology at Southern Methodist University. ​
